Angel & Knight

Angel & Knight is a drawing I drew years ago based on the logo of the Final Fantasy VIII game (you can see it on the first image). Recently, Ashbear, a friend from the FFVIII comunity on fanfiction.net, invited me to join a challenge. There was only one limitation, the theme of the entry had to be based on Squall and Rinoa. So I decided to make a pendand in shape of my old drawing and send it (over the ocean :) ) to Ashbear. She let me know it came safe and sound and I know it found a loving home.

Angel & Knight je naziv crteža kojeg sam, godinama unatrag, nacrtala na temelju loga igre Final Fantasy VIII (crtež se vidi na prvoj slici). Nedavno mi se javila Ashbear, prijateljica s fanfiction.net-a i pozvala me da sudjelujem u prijateljskom natječaju starih fanova igre. Jedino ograničenje natječaja bilo je da tema mora biti temeljena na Squallu i Rinoi. Tako sam odlučila napraviti privjesak na temelju mog starog crteža i poslati ga Ashbear (preko oceana :) ). Javila mi je da je privjesak stigao u jednom komadu tako da znam da je privjesak sada našao mjesto gdje će biti mažen i pažen.

Taking Care of a Little Garden

* Sun: a moss terrarium needs a lot of sun, but must not be exposed to direct sunlight during summer. It's recommended to turn it around every now and then (lets say for a quarter of circle) so all the parts get exposed to the sun equally. 

 
* Water: it's more likely your moss terrarium will survive if it gets less water than necessary than if it gets too much of it. You can recognize the ideal amount of water in a terrarium by tiny drops of mist on the terrarium walls during the day. If there are bigger drops of water on the glass, the terrarium should be opened so that the excess of water can evaporate. If there is no mist on the glass and the soil looks dry, then the terrarium should be watered with a few drops/a tea spoon of distilled water (distilled water doesn't leave traces on the glass and plants).

 
* Maintenance: because of the restricted amount of space inside of a moss terrarium, it's best if the plants grow slowly, so additional fertilising is not needed. Dry and dead parts of the plants should be removed from the terrarium as soon as possible. If a plant grows too big it should be trimmed.

* Sunce: terarij treba puno sunca ali ljeti ne smije biti na izravnom suncu. Poželjno je povremeno okrenuti terarij (npr. za četvrt kruga) u odnosu na sunce.

* Voda: terarij lakše preživljava s manjkom nego viškom vode. Idealna količina vode u terariju je kad se staklene stjenke u toku dana (kad sunce pada na terarij) zarose. Ako se na staklu pojave veće kapljice vode potrebno je otvoriti terarij da višak vode ispari. Ako na staklu nema maglice i zemlja izgleda suho, onda je terarij potrebno zaliti s nekoliko kapi/žličicom destilirane vode (destilirana voda ne ostavlja vidljive tragove po staklu i biljkama).

* Održavanje: terarij nije potrebno dohranjivati jer je poželjno da biljke u njemu, radi ograničenog prostora, sporo rastu. Suhe i istrunule biljke poželjno je čim prije ukloniti iz terarija. Ako poneka biljka u terariju previše naraste poželjno ju je pošišati.

Little Paw

This one I proudly wear around my neck! Its a little felt paw made from my cream chow chow's undercoat. I just have to think of some little trinket to make from my black chow's undercoat to have a black and white pair - the same as my chow boys.

Ovaj privjesak posnosno nosim oko vrata! Šapica filcana od poddlake mog krem chow chowa. Još se samo moram sjetiti neke zgodne sitnice koju bi mogla napraviti od poddlake mog crnog chowa tako da imam crno-bijeli par - baš kao moja dva chow dečka.

These is something I really wanted to try for a while now. I've seen amazing hand felted figurines on the Internet and, having two chows at home, I really wanted to find out if their undercoat can be felted. I tried and - it can! So here it is - hand felted paws made from my black and cream chows' undercoat.

Ovo je nešto što sam već dugo htjela probati! Na Internetu sam vidjela prekrasne ručno filcane figurice, a kako kod kuće imam dva chow chowa, htjela sam saznati može li se njihova poddlaka filcati. Pokušala sam i - može! Rezultat filcanja su ove dvije šapice napravljene od  poddlake mog crnog i krem chowa.
